Our Story

La Perla del Caribe is part of a broader design legacy that began on the shores of Ambergris Caye.

Its architectural philosophy traces back to Matachica, one of Belize’s early expressions of immersive, culturally inspired beachfront design. That project helped define a new way of thinking about Caribbean architecture—one rooted not in standard resort development, but in place, craftsmanship, and atmosphere.

La Perla del Caribe represents the evolution of that vision.

Conceived as a private beachfront estate, it expands on those ideas through a collection of individually designed villas inspired by global influences, including Italy, France, Morocco, Mexico, and Guatemala. Each residence was curated to feel distinctive, while remaining connected through a shared architectural language of texture, light, and coastal living.

The estate itself was also shaped by an intentional search across the Caribbean for a coastline where reef, sea, and shore exist in rare harmony. That search ultimately led to Ambergris Caye—where the world’s second-largest barrier reef meets calm, swimmable Caribbean waters.

Here, La Perla was brought to life not as a conventional resort, but as a private estate designed for gathering, privacy, and connection.

While ownership and stewardship have evolved over time, La Perla del Caribe continues to reflect its original design intention: a place where architecture and nature exist in balance, and where families and groups can come together in an extraordinary setting by the sea.

Today, La Perla del Caribe is a private beachfront estate on Ambergris Caye designed for multi-generational family vacations, milestone celebrations, and meaningful time together.

A collection of distinctive villas. A rare Caribbean coastline. A place to gather beautifully.
