La Perla Del Caribe is an absolute gem! Beautiful villas, accommodating and helpful staff, and amazing views. Close to phenomenal snorkeling/diving and within walking distance of several restaurants. The staff will help you set up anything you want to do on the island. We had a great time lounging on the beach, hanging by the pool, and enjoying our villa. I highly recommend La Perla!

My wife and two boys (7 and 9) stayed in Villa Sand in October of 2022. We all enjoyed our time so much that we will be planning on returning to La Perla sometime in the future. The pictures and other people's reviews do a great job of accurately describing all of the wonderful things this property has to offer. One thing that was great for me as someone who fishes is that I was able to catch Bonefish, snappers, ladyfish, and other fish from the shore and dock. I brought my fishing gear but the folks there were nice enough to provide bait (Sardines). Thank Roberto.
The one area that I would like to expand on is the amazing service that we received during our stay. When I booked, I did so knowing that these are individually owned units that operate under the same HOA for the entire property. I didn't book this place planning on receiving the level of individualized service we received. It started with booking. The staff, specifically Michaela, contacted us and set us up with transportation from the airport and opened up lines of communication on WhatsApp. Once we arrived Kendra was there to greet us and run through all of the features of the property. The staff there provided us with purified water and ice when we needed it. They routinely came and gathered our trash and provided us with new towels and linens. The property has security there overnight, which helped us feel safe, but they also kindly assisted us in getting our fridge to work properly on the first evening. Everyone there went above and beyond. The ground crew was always out in the morning removing seaweed from the beach, raking the sand, and making the property look pristine each day.
I don't know what ownership of this property looks like, but they have hired an amazing team that really cares about their guests. The fact that this place can be somewhere as remote as Ambergris Caye but is run so extremely well is a testament to the hard-working people that work there. Thanks, Michaele, Kendra, and the entire La Perla staff.

First time to Belize

Once we found our way to the resort we enjoyed the amenities and especially loved the pool area. The local dive/snorkel company was extremely convenient as they literally picked us up from our resort dock and Mexico Rocks reef was only a 10 minute boat ride away. Absolutely the most amazing snorkeling I’ve done in my life so I can’t say enough about the experience. I will definitely come back to Belize for future vacations.

Villa Sand has the best ocean views of all the villas on the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Mikaela checked in with us regularly and made arrangements for whatever we needed or wanted to do. Also, arrange snorkeling with the guy on site, Roberto. We snorkeled at Mexican rocks and Chocolate the guide pointed out all the fish and it was just me and my husband and our baby. It was a small personal group and a great experience.

Myself and my family had an amazing time staying at La Perla del Caribe! One downfall that was noones fault was the dead seaweed that was brought in by the storms/waves. No one can prepare for that. Other than the rotten egg smell, our trip was one for the books. We made the best out of the rotten smell. The staff was just AMAZING "nothing to big or to small", right Michaela!? I cant say it enough, amazing staff, food and accommodations!

Reading the other reviews I was pretty sure this would be a great place. But with comments ranging from one of the Top Resorts in the world to I wouldn't go in the water I was still a little nervous.
Here is the deal, it is a great place. Is it perfect, no. It is a bit far from town, yes if you are into spending lots of time in town. There is sea grass that washes ashore but that happens all along the caye and the staff does a great job of clearing it out. Is it on the level of full service high end hotel, no. Is it really comfortable and clean - yes. This is the perfect place as long as you are not an uptight traveler who needs everything absolutely perfect and gets annoyed at small issues. For us, a family of 4, it was absolutely perfect. We did not mind driving the golf cart into town down a bumpy dirt road, it was a fun adventure. We did not feel our vacation was ruined if the internet went out for a little while. We enjoy cooking our own food but found a few good places within a 3 minute walk that were good when we did not want to cook. The staff were very responsive and helped us with anything we needed. The sea grass issues was not a big deal, paddle out 1 minute and the water is crystal blue, clear and warm. The view from the house and front porch alone will be bringing us back. They deserve the strong review but I hope you all don't take the dates I want when I come back again.

Best girls trip ever!!

This was the most beautiful place I’ve been, absolutely gorgeous! The people there were amazing!! The views were spectacular and the beach area was so clean. We enjoyed massages on the beach, a chef making us a wonderful lobster meal, yoga on the dock, wonderful boat excursions that included fishing for snapper and swimming with the sharks. The markets and town area including restaurants are minutes by golf cart and it was so fun hopping on the golf cart to ride into town. It was so nice to be able to use US currency as well. I will definitely be back again!! A special thank you to Robert, Michaela, and Chris for making our stay so easy, comfortable, and wonderful!!

The BEST Girls Trip

I went with 3 of my girlfriends on a last minute girls trip. The Villa Sand was perfect for us! One friend took her son with us, they had his pack and play ready for us. They were able to arrange a babysitter for him while we were out on excursions and she was AMAZING!!! We had massages on the deck and yoga every morning on the pier. One night they brought in a personal chef for a lobster dinner and decorated the villa for our friend’s birthday while we were out on the ocean.
We will definitely be going back, and maybe next time we will take the husbands.

The accommodations were just as viewed in the pictures -- right on the beach with gorgeous sunrise views! There were kayaks and a paddle board to use on site, which was fun. We did end up renting a golf cart for convenience to explore & pick up our own groceries (which I'd recommend). Our host (Michaela) was fabulous & very responsive before & during our stay to make sure every detail was taken care of completely. Roberto set us up with a fishing and snorkeling tours which I'd highly recommend!! There is a great restaurant within walking distance (our favorite), and a couple that were recommended by staff in San Pedro City. Overall, very satisfied with this location, accommodations, and host team -- would highly recommend!

Our stay at La Perla was terrific! We stayed in Villa Sand which is directly on the beach and it was AMAZING! Best villa location at La Perla. The amount of time we spent on the front patio was countless hours of pure relaxation. The views were beautiful and the services provided by Sean, Michaela, Matthew, Roberto, and the rest of the staff were excellent. Groceries can be arranged and ready upon your arrival, as well as a golf cart rental. There are two great restaurant options- Portofino's and Matachica and another beach bar Rojo's close as well. This is truly a perfect destination to unwind and relax.

I stayed at La Perla (Villa Sand) for 10 days with my sister in November 2017. It was our first time in Belize and Villa Sand exceeded all our expectations. The unit was pristine and brilliantly designed for me and my sister. Each bedroom has its own bathroom on separate wings so it was perfect for me and my sister to connect in the middle, hang out, listen to music but also have private space. It would work perfectly for two families, two couples, a few friends etc.
No disrespect to the photographer but the photos absolutely do not do it justice. This place is spectacular. They really need to get new photos because they are not selling exactly what La Perla has to offer.
The Villa is immediately on the beach so you roll out of bed and you are on the beach.
The caretakers are first rate so everything is perfect when you wake up. As far as I can tell, Belize has a very significant problem with lack of infrastructure, no recycling and garbage and while this pervades Ambergris Caye, the entire area of La Perla is a little oasis and clean refuge.
All the amenities at the Villa are great-- the kitchen, the towels, hammock, bikes, chairs and cushions--- all of it is top notch. They do have two kayaks but they should add a paddle board or two.
It is far from town but all the nice places are.
Not but not least, the daily manager Felix is really quite exceptional. I understand that the owners hired Felix about 9 months ago and this guy is something very special. His job is to ensure that you have a perfect stay and I have no hesitation saying that our stay would have been very different if it were not for Felix. He booked us into excursions, came to check on me and my sister to see if we needed anything, rented us a golf cart and did a whole bunch of other things. Everything he did for us was significantly cheaper than if we had done it ourselves. The guy is a total winner and with a cheeky grin.

My husband and I brought our two kids to Belize in July. They learned how to fish, snorkel and kayak. The highlight for them was seeing a sea turtle while snorkelling at Mexico Rocks nearby. The villa was spacious and had everything we needed. The staff is wonderful as well.

We have never been to Belize and decide to take our two college kids with us. We had plenty of room and the location of the house and view was spectacular. The staff was very friendly and overall felt very safe and at home here. This place is far north of town but very quiet and secluded. However the drive to town is really not that far( bumpy but not that far) do rent a golf cart. There is a grocery store close by that you can bike to but kinda far for a walk. Stores closer in town have more of a selection and probably little bit cheaper in price but for the convenience its great for local beer and snacks. the secret beach is only 30 min golf cart ride away.

The staff was very welcoming and was a pleasure to work with during the booking process as well as helping us organize activities during our stay. The facilities and amenities provided were fantastic and top of the line. We enjoyed the remoteness of the location and the ability to truly relax and enjoy the ocean views. We can't want to return!
